Fresh Balance Pasta
Making fresh pasta at home is one of those things that just seems hard until you do it. And then you do it, and you completely impress everyone around you, including yourself, and you're like, oh sweet - that was fun and DELICIOUS!!! That's how I see it, anyway. So, *medicated* pasta? OKAY!!!! For this pasta, we use our Balance Oil because there's nothing that sounds better than coming home from work and having a big bowl of 1:1 pasta to help us relax into the evening and sleep restfully. As always, medicate responsibly.
Fresh Balance Pasta
2 c. all purpose flour
1 tsp or approx 5 dropperfulls Balance Oil
3 eggs beaten
1 tsp salt
In a stand mixer:
Mix all ingredients with the dough hook attachment for approx 10 mins until it’s smooth. Wrap in plastic wrap and let sit for an hour. Cut into portions. To make hand-cut noodles: roll out dough portions to approx. 1/8” thin with rolling pin on a well-floured or parchment-paper covered surface. Using knife or pizza cutter, cut noodles. Transfer to boiling salted water and cook 3-5 minutes, or until they are al dente.
The awesome traditional way:
Mound flour on parchment or countertop. Make a well in the middle and carefully pour in the beaten eggs, the oil, and the salt. Using a fork, work your way around the edges of the flour well, mixing and bringing in more flour until you’ve got a sticky dough. Pick up the dough, adding flour to your hands and counter as needed, and knead for approx 3-5 minutes until you’ve got a smooth dough. Cover with plastic wrap and let sit for at least an hour. To make noodles, see above. Also super fun to roll out and make ravioli!
This recipe makes about 1lb of fresh pasta and can serve 2-4 people, depending on hunger. Using approx 5ml of Balance Oil Drops as the recipe states yields a dough that contains 25mg THC and 25mg CBD. Please dose accordingly - for most people this will be 1/4-1/2 of the pasta (or 5-10mg each of CBD & THC).
